Don't forget the venerable Etta James and Tower of Power on H2H!

Oops, that's the 82 show. If I am not mistaken didn't she sing a few more tunes with them at the same show? For some reason Lovelight comes to my rather foggy memory.

Indeed she did. Sorry it was the New Years Eve show. Tomorrow.

Tell Mama*, Baby What You Want Me To Do*, Hard To Handle*, Midnight Hour*

Not on Lovelight. Maybe it just sounds like it would've been a good fit.

She sang with them on both nights. 12/30 and 12/31/82.

Wow. This is one of my fave segments in GD history. Not the tightest or the best, but for entertainment value this is hard to beat(or handle).

Owowowwwww! Oh pretty little thang!

Thanks for posting that high flow. I have listened to this show before, but seeing this video for the first time brought on a real big smile :)

I downloaded that show out of morbid curiosity, and was really happy to see that something cool went down when Etta James sat in. Despite her underscoring the bluesiness of the Dead, I never thought it was what they did well, especially after Pigpen left/passed. That's my favorite NYE show, just because it's so much fun to listen to.
